We finally made it! We are now in Beijing... although we haven't seen much, yet. The plane ride to China felt like it took days... we were all pretty tired when we came to the hotel late last night. We were so fortunate that all of the flights were on time and we even arrived early. The only airport scare was Richard's trip to park the car in the Detroit Airport. After waiting over an hour, I was a bit panicked and even had the airport officials page him throughout the entire airport. He blames the slow shuttle service. If I didn't know better, I'd think he did it on purpose just to make me mad! Going through security in the US was also as expected... they took our favorite toothpaste and a small bottle of Purell! Oh well! Surprisingly, the video games held their charge for most of the flight... Bradley and Richard were able to play games and slept some! I watched a movie and talked with other families that were on our plane going to China to adopt. We all enjoyed the snacks that were sent by friends! The flight from Tokyo to Beijing was really tough-- by that point we had been up more than 24 hours and the exhaustion was setting in... and a major head-ache! Good thing we had some room to stretch- well, some of us had room-- Bradley and I laid across a few empty seats and slept for several hours. Richard tried to get comfortable... and mumbled a few complaints about his "hate" for flying! He is still talking about the boat ride home!!!! John and Nancy are with the same adoption agency and will be with us for the entire journey. They are very nice and just as anxious as we are to sight-see and get our daughters. On Friday, we will see some of Beijing- it will be nice to get out but, we will need to bundle up! We met Miss Cai last night. She is very nice and will be with us throughout this journey as our guide and translator! THANK GOD! All is good... we love and miss you all! Only a few more days now until you will be seeing our new family-- holding AngeLina... we won't want to let her go!
