Dear Andrew,
If was such a blessing for me to spend our first night together. You tossed and turned, coughed and snored, but I loved every minute of it knowing that God gave you to me for a reason. You woke up a few times and saw me, but did not cry. I was thankful for that. And when you finally woke in the morning, you seemed to remember where you were and who you were with. We got dressed and headed down for breakfast where you again amazed us with your chopstick eating ability. We came back and played in the hallway with cars, trucks and a ball. Finally.... we got many smiles and laughter. You rode on Daddy's back and giggled and giggled just like Sophia and Daniel do. You colored with Emmie and watched Baby Einstein DVD's. I can see that you are trying to draw Chinese Characters. I am very impressed. ;) Everything with you is precise and done to perfection.
We had a free day today so we walked to the store for more water and juice. People looked at us and you and I was just so deeply thankful that you were in my arms and that I can be your Mother. Daddy has another little boy and Emmie is in love with you......I can see it in her eyes.....to the moon and back my love....to the moon and back.
You had one moment today where some tears came and it nearly broke my heart and my Mother instincts kicked in and I told you over and over in Chinese that I loved you. That I was your Mama. We took a long walk around the block before dinner and that seemed to calm you. Once we got back to the room, you played and played with Daddy. Laughing and talking like we have been waiting to hear. Playing clapping games, pretend eating games, jumping games and showing us a bit more of that sweet, special side of you that I know we will have to earn in time.
You are now fast asleep and I can't wait to lay beside you and watch you breathe and look at those beautiful eyes that I love so much. Good night my sweet love......tomorrow will be another special day for you, Daddy, Emmie and I.
