Dear Andrew,
Today was a free day. We had a great breakfast and then headed out to shop and site see. The weather was beautiful today. Sunny with a nice breeze and the humidity was much lower. We went to Shamian Park and watched all the locals doing various things. I think one of my favorites is the couples that dance together. They do it with such grace and perfection. We walked out to the water to watch the boats go by. You love seeing the big boats. We can't wait to see your reaction when you get your first boat ride on the lake.
We also saw two groups of preschool children out for walks too. They all had little uniform coats on and had to hang on to a long rope while the teacher in the front talked and there was another one in the back. Several of the children waved to me. I started to cry. I know that they are happy children....but I could have brought EVERY.SINGLE.ONE.OF.THEM.HOME!!!!
In the afternoon, Emmie and I went to buy pearl necklaces and other items for gifts to give to you, Sophia and Daniel in the future. Sissy bargained hard and won the battle pretty good. She is the mathematical wizard! The mall that we were in had 6 floors......ALL jewelry....beads of every color, size, shape and texture. It was unbelievable. lol The city of Guangzhou was very busy and crazy just like Beijing. The difference being that Guangzhou is not very safe. While we went to do this, you swam in the pool with Daddy and another little girl and her family from our group. He told me you loved it. Which is a good thing since we spend a lot of time in the pool and lake! ;) Tonight was our last dinner out. Shiyan took us to a Thai restaurant. You were so tired you could hardly eat and fell asleep on me before we were done. That was just fine with me. Snuggling you is something I love.
Our journey is nearly over sweet boy and another one is about to begin. I love you with all my heart and I pray that you lo me too.
Love,
Mommy |
