Dear Andrew,
Today we had your medical exam. You were such a brave little boy. Never shed a tear and there were children just sobbing all around you. We were so proud. I think you trust us now which is why you were so calm. One of the doctors told Shiyan that she thought you would need surgery. I had a brief moment of tears over this. I wasn't expecting to hear that. I have known that it could be a possibility, but I wasn't prepared to hear it today. I know that whatever we may face in the future that we will get through it. The Lord has been with you this far and I know he will continue to have his hand upon you.
After the medical exam we stopped at the local "Friendship Park" where there were lots of children playing and older people exercising. I loved watching you play and also the Chinese children. I found a group of three boys totally involved with "Rock, Paper, Scissors." I thought that was funny. You seemed so happy to be around other children. I can't wait to get you home to play outside with Sophia and Daniel. ;)
We went to dinner tonight at a local Chinese restaurant with our group. You had a great time. You eat so healthy. I will have to work on keeping you on this diet once we are home. Perhaps you can influence Sophia and Daniel. Our travel group seems to get along great. I hope we can continue talking with each other via blogs and email once we are home. Even though many of the other children are from different provinces, you all have some sort of special need that makes each one of you special in your own way. We also completed all the rest of you paperwork to make you officially our son. Our consulate appointment is in a few days and then we are headed for home.
Emmie and I did more shopping today for you. Buying all kinds of special gifts to give you on our Forever Family Day. I hope that you like them through the years. I also had 2 etching pictures made up of you, Emmie, Sophia and Daniel. I can't wait to get those. Tomorrow we are going to the Guangzhou Folk Art Museum and a park afterwards. I'm sure it will be a fun day with the group.
I love you sweet boy. You are currently sound asleep in your bed behind me. I love seeing you there, hearing you breathe and knowing that you are mine forever.
