Dear Andrew,
We had a wonderful walk through the Summer Palace today. It was sunny and cool which made it just right for today’s site seeing. However, my heart is filled with mixed emotions as we prepare to leave Beijing. The only home you have known for the last 3 1/2 years. As I walked the streets today, my eyes filled with tears knowing I was taking you to a better place, a home filled with love and yet it is a bittersweet feeling knowing that it will be a long time before you return here for a visit. I have tried my best my sweet boy, to take in all that I can of Beijing. To remember this journey and all that it has meant for all of us and especially for you. We took a lot of pictures, bought you some souvenirs and journaled these past days for you.
As I look ahead to our life together, I pray that it is one filled hope, love and laughter. That we can be the family that you so richly deserved. That you will be close to your siblings and feel my love you as well. I promise to talk with you about your heritage and the place where you have come from. I hope that you will be proud of who you are as I watch you grow into a little curious boy and then on to a young man.
I love you Andrew and I know that the best is yet to come.....
