I can't believe we have been home for over a month already. Analei is settling in like she has been with us forever. After quickly recovering from her cold and fever, she has blossomed into a funny little 18 month old. Though she cannot speak any English - even baby words- she manages to tell us exactly what she wants. She parrots everything you say to her trying to master this new language. She is inquisitive, energetic, and silly. She makes us smile every day. I still look at her and can't believe the 30 month wait is really over.
Big sister Meilyn still has her moments of letting us know how unhappy she is to no longer be in the spotlight alone. But most of the time she is sweet and loving with her little sister. Brian and I are settling in back at home enjoying our family and getting back to a work routine. Meilyn starts school next week. We can't believe the summer is almost over.
Analei loves to be outside in the fresh air trying to keep up with her big sister. She loves the park and the sliding board, picnics and the duck pond. She fascinated by the sand, the ocean and seashells. She is a very interested in figuring our exactly how certain things are put together. Perhaps she is an engineer in the making.
Sleeping and eating are two of Analei's favorite activities. She has slept through the night - a solid 12 hours - since she recovered from her cold and she naps for 2 hours every afternoon. She eats just about anything we offer to her and has made her favorites known. Unlike Meilyn, Analei has a sweet tooth and seems to know just where the candy dish is located!!
We continue to watch the latest news from China on referrals and hope for good news for the many families in line behind us. Brian and I look at our 2 beautiful girls from China knowing we are so blessed to be thier parents.
Thanks for following our journey.
Love,
Jeanne, Brian, Meilyn and Analei
