Analei Fu is officially a Frank!! This morning we went the government offices and completed our paperwork to finalize the adoption. In the eyes of the Chinese government, Analei Fu is our little girl FOREVER!! We verified some information and answered a few questions. After a few signatures, they asked Jeanne and I to seal the documents with our finger print and a foot print from Analei. I'm glad they only wanted my finger print because the page couldn’t accommodate my big fat foot. The director of Analei's Social welfare institute was at the meeting. He was very nice and posed for a picture with us. He reached to each of the girls at some point during the meeting today. You can see in his face how much he cares about these children. Words can not express how thrilled Jeanne and I are. It took us three years to become a family of four, but it was well worth it! Our little girl is Perfect. What an Awesome Day!
And I can not say enough about our other little girl. Meillyn has been a superstar. She is dealing with an awful lot of change, but she is really doing great. Jeanne and I keep telling her how great she is doing. I know it must be very hard.
After the meetings, we went to the local grocery store to get some provisions. The grocery store was huge. It occupied three floors. One really cool thing was how they transported the shopping carts from floor to floor. The building was equipped with an escalator, but the treads remained flat instead of creating a stair. So when you were ready to go upstairs you put your shopping cart on the escalator and up it went. The belt has magnets in it and the carts remain stationary until the end of the ride. I thought it was pretty cool.
Analei slept great last night. Jeanne and I were a little anxious this morning. We were not sure how she would react to her 2nd full day as a member of the Frank family. Much to my surprise and delight, she did really well. She looked around and took her time waking up. Once Jeanne put her hands out to pick her up, Analei reached up without hesitation. She has really taken to her new mommy.
All my girls are taking their afternoon naps. Everyone has had a pretty big day. My guess we will try to give the girls a bath tonight and we will get ready for tomorrow.
We miss everyone so much. While we have only had Analei with us for one day, it feels like we have been gone forever. Thanks for all the emails, they help keep us attached to things happening back home.
