First, only 4 days until we depart for the US.  The Frank Family of 4 is ready.  Today started with an early morning run to Starbucks for "real" coffee for Mom and Dad.  It definitely made a difference in the morning.  We went for visit to the Chen Clan Academy.  It was built in the late 1800's and served as a private school for the elite Chen family.  In recent years, it has been turned into a Folk Arts Museum where local artists can show their work.  We visited here 3 1/2 years ago when we adopted Meilyn though I am not sure then we understood the history behind this Museum.  We purchased 2 hand paintings, one for each of the girls, to commemorate our trip.  It is very hot here and humid.  The sun was out this morning but by the time we returned to the hotel about 12:00 the rain had begun.

I spent a good portion of the afternoon in the Swan Playroom with Meilyn while Brian attempted to get Analei to sleep.  The nap never happened for Analei who decided her morning "cat nap" on the bus was enough.  Meilyn played hard all afternoon and decided when it was time to get ready for our group dinner, that she'd rather nap instead.  Knowing it was 5:00, we decided it was better for her to rally and be a little tired than sleep until 3am and have us all awake.  We lost the battle and had "4 year old meltdown" instead.  We missed our group dinner as Dad jumped in to be the voice of reason.  It's apparent that Meilyn is suffering from what all siblings likely feel when a new little one appears on the scene.  As Brian says, we will get through it.  We always do.

Ultimately, we rallied for a later than schedule dinner at the hotel.  The girls are now both asleep and Mom is enjoying a much needed glass of wine.  Tomorrow we have the medical exam and little else in terms of planned activities.  If the weather cooperates, we will likely do some swimming and some shopping.  Enjoy the photos from today.

Here's to 4 more days in China.

Love,
Jeanne, Brian, Meilyn and Analei.
