April 4, 2006
I think that my three kids are snoring now at 8 pm; none of them ate dinner.  One didn’t want to and the others two gave up.

We had a mostly free day today.  Once again, we were all up quite early!  We had a nice breakfast here at the White Swan in Guangzhou.  Well, everyone else did.  I tried, but have long forgotten how to balance caring for a two year old with caring for myself.

We did a bit of shopping this morning; mostly snacks and baby items we needed.  We walked around Shamian Island (where the White Swan is located) and met some neat shop-keepers.  We had lunch at a place called Lucy’s; a favorite of adoptive families because it “caters” more to the American palate… picky!

The other two families in our travel group got their daughters today.  They are both beautiful little girls who are only a week apart in age.  I am pretty sure that they are both bigger than Amy; and Amy is 5 months older.

We did some paperwork tonight in preparation for our adoption proceedings tomorrow morning.  She will be legally our daughter tomorrow by about noon.

Amy is struggling quite a bit; that means that we are all struggling quite a bit.  She is allowing for me to provide her needs right now, but that’s about it.  I am most concerned about all three kids.  Ashleigh and Austin are trying so hard to be loving and understanding.  And our dear Amy; there isn’t much that the first picture can’t say better than I.

Please pray that tomorrow I am able to post pictures of Amy smiling…

While visiting a park in Guangzhou, Guangdong today, Ashleigh and Austin watched older Chinese men and women doing daily exercises, several people dancing, a choir rehersing, lots of people playing a Chinese version of Hacky Sack and lots of really neat Chinese statues.
