What a LONG DAY!!!
Our day on Friday seemed longer than 24 hours... well, I guess it technically was! We left the White Swan in Guangzhou at 5:45 am and arrived at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita on Friday night at 10:45 pm local time. That makes for 30 hours of travel plus the car ride home... Holy COW!

The truth is, we couldn't have asked for better travel - all things considered. The plane ride from Hong Kong to Chicago was SO turbulent! I actually hit the point where I HAD to relax because flying in the plane was the only way I was going to get home; not to mention the fact that there isn't an exit! This flight was across the Pacific Ocean, so we got to see different "scenery" on this ride. We slept as much as possible, but sleeping with a two year old in your lap isn't too easy.

We were VERY sad to part ways at Chicago with our travel buddies. Amy cried when they left to board their plane to Springfield. God was so good to put together our group; we have really balanced each other out during that last three months of waiting and our time in China was no different. It was such a blessing to see all three of our girls blossom over the period of just a few days. I am not sure that we will ever appreciate how far they have come and so quickly.

It is SO good to be home! We were welcomed at the airport by some of the MOST SPECIAL people in our lives. It was so awesome for our family and friends to finally see Amy with her family.

As we expected, Amy HATED the car seat! It was actually quite amusing...

I wasn't prepared for how emotional actually bringing her in the front door would be! For 20 months we dreamed of having another child; a life to invest in and to be blessed by. To carry her in the front door and to welcome her HOME was that dream fulfilled.

We are so blessed that we were allowed to adopt such a precious and beautiful little girl. We continue to look at her and laugh at just how perfectly she "fits" into our family. It's as if God took the physical characteristics from her birth parents that were SO similar to Chris and I and actually created her for us! And we know he did.

Thank you for following our journey to Amy. It has been so awesome to read your emails and we are encouraged. I am hoping to post an update in the "Home Update" section later this week. We covet your continued prayers as Amy transitions once again - this time it will be forever...
