Thanks so much for visiting us during our journey,
Vaughn, Cynthia and Amelia Grace!
We made it through the night. Thank goodness Janet is with us. She is such a great Mom!   (Just ask Christian, Lydia, Nathan, and Abigail) She is giving us such great advice and teaching us how to feed, bath, dress, and  everything else for a baby. I cannot imagine the additional stress we would have if she was not with us ( Not to mention  that she keeps Vaughn in line).

Today is a free day. Time to bond with the baby. Janet and I gave Amelia a bath this morning. She did not like it at all. But, by the time she was dry and dressed, she was happy.  We spent most of the day just playing with Amelia. She became very clingy with me. She would get upset if I, Vaughn, or Janet left the room.  She wanted us all right beside her at all times.
It made it very hard to get anything done. She is sitting up, but, she is not crawling or walking yet.   This is fine with us. It will give us more time to adjust to being parents. In the late afternoon, after Amelia's nap, we decided to go shopping. Bruce told us about a store close to the hotel that is just like Wal-Mart and the prices are the same and everything is made in China.

We needed to get shoes for Amelia, some warmer clothes and another crib sheet. We went to the department store. The children's department was very small. Not a lot to choose from.  We did find Amelia two pairs of shoes. She loved them. We put them on her feet and she just moved her feet around and smiled. That's all Daddy needed to see. He wanted to buy Amelia whatever she wanted. We also picked out 3 warm outfits. While we were in the store, we noticed how Amelia was moving to the music over the intercom. We found out what they were playing and bought the CD. We thought it might be helpful for Amelia to hear some Chinese and other things that are familiar to her. It is a CD for the Chinese New Year. While we were at this department  store we went down to the lower level which is a grocery store. We learned something else about Amelia. We walked down the candy aisle to stock up on our M&M's and Amelia went crazy reaching for the candy. You could tell that she knows what candy is and has eaten it before.  So Amelia is already taking after her Mom and Dad. She is very happy when she gets a new pair of shoes like her Mommy and she loves candy and to eat like her Daddy.

We returned to the hotel and planned to eat at the dinner buffet. But, none of us was excited about more rice. We ran into one of the adoption families. They told us that LiPing ordered pizza from  Pizza Hut for them and had it delivered the night before. We immediately found LiPing and asked him to order us pizza. Do I even need to mention that Vaughn was very happy!!

Amelia did much better going to bed tonight. She cried some but not as long and hard. We were very relived.
