Thanks so much for visiting us during our journey,
Vaughn, Cynthia and Amelia Grace!
Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting our web site. We left for China Saturday, January 19th at 8am.  We had a layover in Newark. While we were waiting to board, we meet a couple from Orlando who were on their way to China to adopt a little boy with one kidney. He is their 2nd adopted child from China. They also have a 4 year old daughter that they adopted 2 years ago. We ended up setting next to them on the flight to China. They gave us lots of advice and pointers for the trip. They will be in a different city this week.  But, we will both end up in Guangzhou at the end of our trip. This is where all families finish their adoption
paperwork.

The flight was long but fine. We tried to sleep on the way over, but, we were still exhausted when we landed in Beijing. After getting our luggage and going through customs, we found our
tour guide, Sim. He was also waiting for 3 other couples from our group that were on our same flight.  We could not all fit in the van for the ride to the hotel. Sim put us in the car of his assistant, Mary.  Mary did not speak English. She also drove a Honda accord but, acted as if she was driving a mac truck.  She switched to whichever lane she wanted without checking what cars were already there. Vaughn was in the front seat trying to make conversation with her. She would just giggle. We finally made it to the hotel. We were very happy! After checking into the hotel, we ate at one of the restaurants inside the hotel. It was very good. We were so exhausted but excited!

We did not take any interesting pictures while we traveled. So I have included a picture of our group.
