Hello everyone!! I apologize for not having photos yet. My computer has crashed on me and we are therefore having technical difficulties with getting photos off of my camera for sending. We will be working on this in the next couple of days as we will have more "free" time in our schedule.
On March 31st (which is Saturday, April 1st here) Abigail woke up feeling worse then yesterday. She was running a fever as well as having problems with nausea and vomiting. She still wanted to go to the Great Wall so she made a valiant effort to go. She was in the hotel lobby less then 5 minutes when she requested to go back to the room and stay at the hotel for the day. Ken offered to stay with her. She did begin to feel better later in the day and was able to hold down some food and the fever broke. She and Ken were able to go bowling in the hotel bowling alley.
The rest of us took tours of a Jade factory, Ming tombs, a pottery factory and the Great Wall. It was a very busy and action packed day. The weather was good. It is much like Boise weather in the Beijing area. Because of limited time we weren't able to hike completely up the Great Wall. We took a cable car part of the way up and then hiked the rest of the way to the top. We again were celebrities to the locals and found ourselves having our pictures taken often.
After returning to the hotel and having a quick meal at McDonald's we went to the Chinese National Acrobatics Show. This was incredible. Abigail and Ken were able to join us. I think this might have been Abigail's favorite thing so far.
We will be leaving Beijing for Changsha tomorrow. Our guide have planned a 4:00am wake up call for us. I guess we have to leave the hotel by 5:20 am to make our 7:50 flight.
