Today has been such a great day! Incredibly relaxing and fun. The weather was quite ominous this morning during our walk to the clinic. We left our hotel at about 9am and walked a couple of blocks to the clinic. A storm was coming in and the sky was so dark……….like tornado dark! We made it to the clinic before the rain started and waited for just a couple of minutes for the doctors to get their stations set up. Each child was screened for height, weight, and temperature at one station……..Alicia is 14 pounds. Then we went to the ENT, they checked her ears, throat and basically checked her hearing to see if see could follow the sound of the bell. The third station consisted of a medical exam where they checked her lungs, heart and took off her diaper…not quite sure what they checked there though! She passed with flying colors!! By the time that we left the clinic there was a huge line of people with babies. We were about two blocks from the hotel when the rain started coming down hard. We had an umbrella but we still ended up pretty soaked. It stormed for a couple of hours and gave us a chance to have a good morning nap and relax a little. This afternoon we walked around a bit doing a little shopping and are back trying an afternoon nap, not really succeeding on that though. Alicia has been having a problem with naps this week. I think that she is getting her lower teeth. She is starting to get more of an appetite in the last couple of days. She went from eating a 4 ounce bottle to a 6 ounce bottle yesterday……hopefully that means that she is getting used to us. Tomorrow we have another free day. Our guides will take all our paperwork to the US consulate for finally approval. We need to check with them at 1pm tomorrow to make sure everything looks good.
Last night we could hear loud music outside the hotel and when we finally opened the shades to see what was happening……..WOW! It was like Vegas out there! They had a laser light show going on the bridge and on the buildings on both sides of the river. Even the boats had lights on them. It was quite pretty. I guess when we head to bed before 8pm we are missing out on quite the night life!
Have a great day. Marcus we love you so much and can’t wait to see you in a couple of days! You are my favorite little boy in the whole world!
