It is a beautiful day outside and we are ALL rested after a good nights sleep so we are going to go outside and enjoy it. Another couple recommended we go visit the People’s Park right next to the zoo. We spent an hour or so walking around and enjoying the various trees and sculptures and Alexis enjoyed playing on the swing set with Mom and Dad.
It is getting warmer every day so we are hopeful when we return to the states it will be spring there too. Alexis definitely loves being in her stroller and exploring the outside which we will be taking advantage of with the various parks near our home.
The best MOM moment today happened in a store where a local woman was playing with Alexis and wanted to hold her. Alexis was smiling at her, but turned and put her arms around my neck to hold me. While this is just the beginning of our bonding phase I can’t tell you how amazing that felt to have her turn to us for her safe haven. Note, it is very customary for the locals to greet the children and touch their hands and legs to make sure they are healthy. We have received several thumbs up for Alexis.
We closed out the day by going to a local Chinese restaurant for dinner, not the same as home but very good. Mom and daughter had to leave a little early; “someone” decided that it was time to go back to the room for a bottle. Now that we are all back, it is time for Alexis to go to bed and for us to pack for our plane ride tomorrow. We are looking forward to the White Swan hotel, which is where we will stay for the remainder of our trip. It is supposed to be a five star upscale hotel, which is what we need right about now.
Hope everyone is well and we will check in again tomorrow!
