Third Day In Guangzhou
Two more days until we fly home.  It is bittersweet but we are ready to be back to a normal daily routine.  Being on the go all the time is really hard on the babies, as well as the parents.  Naptime has been so disrupted for Alexis. Today, she slept for 20-30 minutes in the stroller and I don’t think it was very peaceful.  It’s so incredibly hot.  I don’t think Fred and I will ever complain about the heat in Florida again.

This morning, we got the call from our CCAI Rep. Jason, around 12:00pm that she has an official visa to enter the US.  YEAH!!!!  She will become an American citizen tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow at 2:45pm, we have to take a bus to the US Consulate to take the oath.  This is a momentous occasion!  Unfortunately, they will not allow cameras or any types of bags into the building, so we cannot take pictures of the occasion.  She will be wearing a little red/white/blue dress with a star on the front.  We will take photos afterwards to post on the web page.

Besides being really hot, we have had wonderful weather throughout our journey in China.  There were two very bad thunderstorms back to back late yesterday.  Today we walked through the Shamian Park and along the Pearl River.  Alexis really enjoys being outside.  Around 2:00pm, we visited the Pearl Market.  They had magnificent prices on both fresh and saltwater pearls.  We bought Alexis a pearl bracelet and stud earrings as a gift for when she is older.  She seems to love jewelry.   I had to watch her every second.  She was grabbing at everything, especially the pearls.

Fred just left to go pick up Alexis’s registration paperwork for tomorrow and our plane tickets back to Hong Kong.  This is the absolute last step.  I can’t believe she is finally coming home with us.
I didn’t take any pictures today but I will post pics of past activities.  We ordered a pizza for dinner tonight and are staying in.  Everyone is exhausted and ready to return home.  Alexis fell asleep early, around 5:00pm but she was so tired.

There is an optional trip to the local zoo but I think everyone is going to skip it.

Well, not much to say today.  Talk to you soon.
