Tour of Nanchang's History
We all had a great time today.  Alexis woke up in a fabulous mood...thank goodness for prunes!

At 9:30am, everyone met in the lobby and boarded a bus to tour the modern and ancient parts of Nanchang.  Our first stop was a beautiful fountain where the water was synchronized to music.  Alexis and Daddy were dancing together, it was really cute.  James our CCAI rep, showed us the new modern part of Nanchang that has developed only in the past three years.  He gave us a run down on the history, culture and marriage customs of Nanchang and we recorded this on video.
We then took a tour of the Tower of the 23rd Son of the Khan Dynasty which is 2000 yrs. old.  The tower had to be rebuilt because it was nearly destroyed during the civil war of Nanchang in 1927.  The gardens were filled with sculpture made of bronze and marble, each representing a calendar year (ex. rooster is 2005).  CCAI treated us to a show with Chinese dancers, ancient bells/ drums and musical instruments inside the top floor of the tower.  This was a fabulous display of their culture.  I video taped the performance for everyone to see.

Alexis liked the Koi fish swimming in the ponds. I told her that she has some in her back yard at home.  The weather was so humid and hot.  By the time we finished the tour and walked to the restaurant we were all exhausted and soaking wet.  The humidity in China and Hong Kong is far worse than Florida ...believe that one, I didn't think that was possible.  Once again, we sampled an array Chinese cuisine.

Tomorrow, we are going to the Nanchang Zoo and the People's Park.  James (our CCAI rep) says they have a panda there.  This should be exciting for all of us.  It's not often you get to see a panda.
This evening was relatively quite.  James had a tailor come to the hotel with silk dresses and jackets for men, women and children.  Fred and I are having three outfits made for Alexis.  One of the dresses matches mommy's dress that she is having made.  They were so cheap, it was unbelievable!!  Fred is also having a gorgeous black jacket made with two white dragon's on the front.

We all had such a great time today.  I was just glad that Alexis was feeling better.  She has such a beautiful laugh and smile and it was great to see that again today.

Well, not much else to talk about.  It's 8:15pm and Alexis is finally asleep.  Will write more tomorrow.

Love,
Aly
