We left the Victory Hotel in Guangzhou very early this morning, 5:00 am to be exact and headed for our journey home. Our first leg of the trip was from Guangzhou to Beijing, a two and a half hour flight. Alexandra did ok however she only slept a small portion. We left Beijing at 5:00pm which was an hour and a half later than planned due to rain and we were concerned about making our connection in Newark. We arrived in Newark and breezed through customs and immigration. Alexandra slept nine out of the twelve and a half hours of flight time. When we went through immigration we provided "the brown envelope" this actually makes her a citizen even though she came home on a Chinese passport. The flight from Newark to Pittsburgh was also delayed due to some rain however it was ok with us because we were on U.S. soil and it felt so good. We arrive in Pittsburgh at 9:45pm and had a wonderful welcome with friends and families. Pappy John, Aunt Paula, Uncle Mark, Aunt Renee, Nikki, Tracey, the Basile family, the Harouse family, Patty and Ray Phillips, the Butka family, the Wudkwych family, and Auntie Hazel. I think that's everyone. It was wonderful to see everyone and we really appreciated the warm welcome. We headed home to get some rest and start our family of four in the states. When we arrived at our house it was beautifully decorated by our dear friend Patty Phillilps, that was so thoughtful. Take a look. Thanks again to everyone for your prayers and support my next and final post will be the home update on May 11 Alexandra's first Birthday! I have attached a few pictures and will get a few more posted as soon as I receive them. We didn’t take any at the airport so we are relying on friends who did.
