April 17, 2008 Shopping with the locals in Chongqing
We left early this am to enjoy a section of Chongqing where we could do some shopping and get a real taste of how these folks live in this area. It is very mountainous here in Chongqing and there are no bicycles. Very different from Beijing. We did a little shopping to have a few keepsakes for Alexandra, this is the best we can do since we will not get to visit the orphanage. The scenery was very pretty and we enjoyed the history of the city that Marie shared with us. We came back and just hung out at the hotel and park and just chilled. It was nice to relax a little because we haven’t had the opportunity to do much of that lately. Tonight we get to do dinner on our own so some of us are headed to the pizza hut. We have some paperwork to complete at 8:00pm so I thought I would get the post in early today. Alexandra continues to share with us more and more of personality. Everyday is better and better and I know that she is feeling comfortable with us. She is eating well (only the bottle and cereal) and she even looks like she is growing some. She is talking more and more (baby gibberish) and is laughing a lot. I just can’t wait to get home and for all of you to get to experience this most precious child. Nicholas continues to be the best helper and he loves to feed her. She loves the stroller and the baby Bjorn. (Thanks Lori for loaning this to us it has been a lifesaver). Well this is a short post for today. Not a whole lot happening other than we are just enjoying our family of four every minute. Hope everyone is well at home and we look forward to seeing everyone in seven days. Thanks for all of the emails we love reading them!
Having fun in Chongqing!
Love to all,
Patsy, Bob, Nicholas and Alexandra Nicole
P.S. Aunt Paula when we did some shopping today Bob found you an extra special surprise! I can't wait for you to see it.
