We left this morning at 9:30am to visit the Chongqing Zoo to see the Panda Bears. The zoo was a 30 minute drive and this was Alexandra's first bus ride she did great. She was just looking around and taking it all in. We got to the zoo and did see the Pandas munching on bamboo. We saw a red panda also that looked like a giant raccoon couldn’t get any pictures because they were hiding in the brush. We saw a few elephants and tigers and a lot of the exhibits were vacant or the animals were inside their caves or cages. We took some pictures and did a little touring around. The weather was great again - it was about 75 - 78degrees but there was a nice breeze. When we got back we got a little lunch and then just hung out while Alexandra took her nap. We are really starting to see her personality. She makes funny faces and is really starting to make sounds and she is trying to talk a little. She rolled over for the first time today. We can see that she has not spent much time if any on her belly. We did dinner on our own tonight and we went to a restaurant that was much like Hibachi Japan or Benne Hanna. They prepared the food in front of us and Alexandra really enjoyed it. Bob and Nicholas really enjoyed the food but I had to pass. You won’t believe this but they were preparing fish and they put the whole fish on this grill. (There was really no preparing) The food here is really cheap and everyone it very helpful and friendly. Tomorrow we will visit the local shopping area where the locals sell there goods, Marie said you can do a lot of bargaining and I can't wait for that. This afternoon I went and picked up the film that the orphanage had taken with the disposable cameras we had mailed upon getting her first picture. I think I mentioned this in my previous post. When I picked them up I couldn’t wait to look at them and found myself in complete sorrow while I viewed this part of our daughter’s life. It broke my heart to see where she had lived and some of what her daily life was like. I thank God everyday for this child. There are also pictures of the front of the orphanage and the town in which she lived. Well I will close for now and I will post again tomorrow. Again thanks for all of the emails I wish we could respond however there are too many and their computers are extremely slow. Thanks again for following our journey.
