We awoke to a busy day. The Jianguo Hotel has a wonderful breakfast fit for any American or Chinese. Today we, and 3 other families from Living Hope, traveled to The Great Wall, or a portion rather from the Ming Dynasty. It was more amazing to see in person and even Ainsley climbed some steps. Richard, Olivia, Ethan and Nana Carole went even higher while Stacy, Ainsley and Sophia perched on a landing admiring the amazing views.
Olivia and Ethan were "superstars" and people were taking pictures of them and with them. We were told that many Chinese have not seen "westerners" like them in person. Nana Carole got an amazing picture with a group of Army men gawking at the kids.
Next we visited Living Hope's orphanage #3 that is literally next to The Great Wall. It was hard to choke back tears for these children without parents, but it is obvious that Living Hope is doing a great service for them and our Saviour. The dance program performed by these children was spectacular but we were blessed to see how Living Hope is caring for these special children.
Lunch at a Jade factory was interesting. Olivia said "This is what we are having?" We reminded her that we are in China are sometimes eat as the Chinese eat.
The evening ended with an acrobatic show and Nana Carole, and all the families, had duck for dinner!!! We made Nana Carole's day, too! |
