We had a smooth flight from Dulles to Beijing and 14 hours of flight beat traveling 24 hours as we did last time. We were happy to see our facilitators after we collected our luggage and they welcomed us to Beijing and told us we were being immediately taken to Ainsley! We expected to get her the next day, but were excited to finally see our little girl. It was getting late when Ainsley was brought to us, crying since she was unfamiliar with the man who got her. Our Living Hope staff member assured us it was ok to pick her up and love on her, so we did and joined her with our own tears. Realizing Ainsley did not know we were trying to soothe her since English was unknown to her, we learned a new word in Chinese meaning "don't cry". It worked! Ainsley was comforted and allowed us to love on her with hugs and kisses! Prayer has been answered. She immediately attached to Stacy and would not be set down out of her arms.
We all had a restful night at our hotel and dreamed of our new life together. |
