Thanks so much for visiting us during our journey,
Matt, Andrea and Aerin!
November 4 - 5 --

Well, as expected, yesterday was very busy. We had to get packed again and fly to Guangzhou. The flight was short, but the waits were long. We arrived at 8:pm and had to find our rooms and eat dinner. We were exhausted from the day, but Miss Aerin did great. Only one small meltdown in the tiny airport when we woke up from a very short cat nap on mom's shoulder. Waking up in the lounge of the Heifei airport with a few hundred strangers and a wet diaper would send anyone into a meltdown. Once our bottom was dry and we ate a few rice crackers and a sip or two of bottled water, we were ready for the actual plane ride. She was an angel. Sat on my lap the whole time with no fussing at all. Aerin and Dad played stack the blocks, knock them over, and then watch Dad crawl under the plane seat to fetch them up.

Adjusting to the new hotel room has gone pretty smoothly and Matt & I are much more comfortable here. The weather is extremely warm, but the air-conditioning is much more efficient. And, then there is the shopping!

Aerin was a real trouper today. We hit a very large mall. It was loud and crowded. Worse than the day after Thanksgiving in the States. She was really good! We had to keep the rice cakes coming, but she rode in her stroller without a fuss.

Tomorrow is her official medical exam. Pretty routine, and I doubt that we get any new information, but we're going to say an extra prayer tonight, that we check out just fine.

All our love,
Matt, Andrea & Aerin

Sorry for the delay in the journal entry! I have re-typed this entry 4 times and keep getting disconnected when the message is sent.

We are in our final days in China! We have been very busy shopping, eating, and bonding. Daddy has gotten the first of the belly laughs! We all know he's the funny one anyway!

Yesterday we survived the doctor exam. All good news! None of the babies cared for the exam, but we only had minimal screaming.

Shopping has been lots of fun here.  We like bargaining with the vendors and finding lots of good stuff. We get stopped on the street alot.

Many comments and questions. Mostly, "Big baby, how old?". I even had to explain to an older American woman on the elevator,  "Yes, she was this big when I got her ( seven days ago)!  We are taking this all in as compliments. Aerin is as happy, loving, loved, and well fed, as she looks.

We miss you all and will see you soon!
