This weekend we ventured to the top of the Great Wall! Tommy thinks we saw Moses up there! Emily and I each earned a hero card and a certificate and as silly as it sounds, this means so much! For me personally this was so much more than simply climbing up the wall! It was about the journey that led me to China in the first place as well as making sense of all the delays and missing the 5/30 cut-off. Ouch! That still hurts! To those of you still waiting, once you get your referral, the time actually flies by! It will all make sense and you will quickly come to understand that is on God's timing, not ours! And, it is perfect! It took me a while to get there, but I am here and it is the best feeling in the world! I wanted to extend a special thank you to my some of my adoption pals, especially Staci (Emilee's mom) who found me the slot with FTIA and handled all my consulate paperwork out on NYC! I couldn't have done this without you! We have spent so many late nights talking on the phone trying to rationalize everything going on with the CCAA and why the delays! I feel so blessed to have become friends with you! And to Melissa, (Hahn's mom) Thank you for all the late night pep talks and I hope your little blessing comes home soon! It is a weird twist of fate, that we came to know each other, and I am so sure God put you in my life for a reason! You inspire me!!!
We get the babies tomorrow and Emily and I can't wait!
Staci sent me this prayer back in April of 2005, and I have said it every night. This will be the last night I have to wait but thought it might help those of you still waiting:
Climb every mountain!

See why we are eating pizza every night for dinner!
A Waiting Mother's Prayer
Dear Lord,
Now I lay me down to rest,
My dossier is finished, I've done my best!
I've chased this form and then another
All in hopes to be a mother.
And now that I have finished this task
I have but only one favor to ask.
Please keep my daughter in your embrace
Until I can come and take your place.
I'll raise her as she is my own.
And try to provide a loving home.
I'll tell her of her mother's love,
A love that could only come from above.
So as I lay me down to rest,
I know that you will do your best,
To keep her and love her in every way
Until I arrive on Gotcha Day.
